Porcelain sink?

My husband and I moved into our house about a year and a half ago. I absolutely adore everything about our cute little home, with the exception of one thing...our sink. When we moved in, I was in love with it. It was a beautiful white, porcelain and looked brand new. After a few months, though, I noticed that it was scratched and dingy looking. All of the dirt was getting stuck in those scratches and I learned to hate it. Yesterday, I finally found a great trick to get it looking new again. I found a new bottle of toilet bowl cleaner gel (with bleach) in the cabinet and decided to try that on the sink. It was AMAZING! I squirted it around the sink as I would with a toilet, let it sit for about 2 minutes then washed the sink out. There were a few spots that I had to run the sponge over, but I barely had to scrub at all. It looks brand new again! Plus the toilet bowl cleaner fights the flu virus, so its clean and disinfected :o)

Sweet and salty, quick and easy

Hey guys! Sorry it's taken me so long to post again. Summer was such a busy time for me, and now that fall has arrived, I finally have some down time. Anyway, I wanted to throw out a quick and easy dinner idea for those nights that you don't have much time, but you still want something filling and delicious. I was inspired by the Caramelized Salmon Skewers recipe in this months issue of Better Homes and Gardens. It sounded delicious but I didn't have all of the ingredients on hand, so I improvised and it turned out D-E-Licious!! I made it for 2 but adjust the recipe accordingly to accommodate your family :o)

Sweet and Salty Salmon

2 salmon fillets (I used fillets of about 1/4 lb each)
1/4 cup store bought caramel ice cream topping
1/2 tbsp honey mustard
1/2 tbsp soy sauce
a squeeze of lemon juice (I'd say I used about a 1/4-tbsp)
salt and pepper to taste

Coat your pan with Pam (or your non-stick cooking lubricant of choice). Heat pan to medium heat.  In a small bowl, mix together the caramel topping, honey mustard, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Rinse your salmon fillets and pat dry. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Coat the fillets with your caramel mixture (to do this, I just placed the fillets, one at a time, in the bowl and drizzled the caramel mixture on top with a regular spoon). Place in pre-heated pan. Drizzle a spoonful of sauce on top of each fillet. Allow to cook for about 3 minutes and flip. Drizzle the rest of the caramel mixture on top, dividing between the two salmon fillets. Allow to cook for 3-4 more minutes. Remove from heat and allow to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

It isn't a very good picture but I couldn't wait to dig in long enough to take a better one. ;o)

I hope you enjoy this recipe and come back for more ideas soon!!
